About the teacher
Having worked within the medical health field for many years, Thea Marais has the ability to not only teach Anatomy and Physiology but more importantly, to give the students an understanding of the importance of how the body works both in health and disease – thus making the course more applicable for complementary therapies. In the course she also explains how important lifestyle is in maintaining health, looking at which factors contribute to health as well as those that are detrimental. She will include numerous examples from her initial work in hospitals as well as her later work in applied psychology in various aspects of health maintenance.
